Today is Colorado Gives Day, a one-each-year event sponsored by The Giving First Foundation. Those who choose to participate today can have a portion of their donations matched through a generous $1,000,000 incentive fund. Mission Statement
Where Grace Abounds exists to guide and support men and women who seek to understand sexuality and relationship, and to inspire all people to know and personally appropriate God’s plan for their sexuality and relationships.
How to Attend
Where Grace Abounds provides support for those with sexual, emotional and relational issues, and those affected by them (family, friends, etc.). We require that everyone attend an orientation meeting so that everyone can fully understand how our small group meetings work. Contact us for more information about the next Orientation Meeting.
Orientation
The next step is to attend an orientation meeting. It is an informal gathering for people who are interested in attending WGA Thursday night group meetings. We will explain more about the WGA philosophy, history, share stories of our personal histories with WGA and then close with an opportunity for you to ask questions and share your motivation for participating in Where Grace Abounds. Contact our offices for information about the next Orientation Meeting.
Thursday Night Structure
After attending an Orientation meeting individuals can participate in the ReSOULutions (Restoring Our Souls through Real Solutions) 4 Week Focus Groups. The four ReSOULutions series talks are comprised of a talk describing an issue, a deeper focus, a cycle of healing, and Practical Tools & Self Care. Each of the four week series are self contained so it is important to hear each of the talks in a series. At this point there are 4-four week series: “Seeking True Connection: Resolving Love & Sex Addiction”, “Navigating Sexual Identity and Same Sex Attraction”, “Resolving The Effects of Abuse”, and “Ways of Healthy Relating”. The description of each of the classes are listed here. A one hour small group time is provided after the speakers for you to discuss the topic presented and to give you a respectful place to share. Small groups are comprised of 4-6 people with a facilitator to help the group stay focused and to make sure everyone who wants to share is provided time to share.
On-going Community Support
Once you have completed a majority of the ReSOULutions series, you move into our On-going Community Support. The On-going Community Support group is simply people who have been attending WGA for awhile after attending the ReSOULutions series. It is a “drop in” group, so you do not have to worry about making a big commitment. Every week a speaker presents a topic they would like to share and this time is followed by a small group time. Again the small group time is simply a time to discuss the topic presented that evening and to provide a respectful place for people to share their feelings and struggles on issues they do not have an outlet for elsewhere. It is comprised of 4-6 people with a facilitator to help the group stay focused and to make sure everyone who wants to share is provided time to share.
Focus Groups
When you have a level of comfort in the WGA community, there are a number of different focus groups available to you to help in your personal growth. Those options are Commitment Group, Survivors of Abuse, ReNew Group, Growth Group, Going Deeper with God, and Individual Discipleship Counseling. Each group carries different requirements and also carries a deeper level of commitment.
Community
Where Grace Abounds really believes in community and a practical place to practice the relational theories discussed on Thursday Nights—they are an equal and valued part of our program. We have a large number of social gatherings for our community throughout the year. Picnics, celebrations, game nights, movie nights, sporting events, and amusement parks are just some examples.
