Beliefs & Philosophy
At WGA, we’re grounded in God’s redeeming love through Jesus Christ, guided by Scripture, empowered by the Spirit, and committed to authentic, Colorado community.
Beliefs
God’s Trinity & Nature
We believe in one eternal, triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—perfect in unity, wisdom, and power. He is deeply personal, lovingly present, and faithfully rewards those who sincerely seek Him.
God’s Love & Grace
We believe God loves every person uniquely and unconditionally. Out of His great compassion, He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to redeem and restore humanity, offering grace freely and abundantly.
Sin & Reconciliation
We believe that every person has sinned and experienced separation from God. We are all in need of reconciliation, which can only be found through God’s grace, revealed in Christ.
Substitutionary Sacrifice
We believe Jesus Christ willingly gave His life as the perfect, sufficient, and once-for-all sacrifice. His death on the cross provides complete forgiveness of sins, freedom from guilt and shame, and cleansing from all unrighteousness.
Personal Acceptance & Eternal Life
We believe salvation and eternal life come through personal acceptance of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and surrender to Him as Savior and Lord. This relationship transforms our lives now and secures our hope for eternity.
Scripture
We believe that the Bible, Old and New Testaments, is divinely inspired by God. Through Scripture, the Holy Spirit speaks authoritatively to teach us truth, gently rebuke, lovingly correct, and faithfully guide us toward righteousness and wisdom.
Spiritual Gifts
The Holy Spirit isn’t just an experience; He is a person who fills, leads, and empowers us to live out the way of Jesus. He gives us gifts—not for our own glory, but to build up the Church and bring life to the world.
Resurrection
The resurrection isn’t just an event in history; it’s the turning point of reality. Jesus walked out of the grave, proving that love is stronger than death and offering us the hope of new life—both now and forever.
Growth & Sanctification
We believe the pathway to holiness and an abundant, fulfilling life comes through ongoing growth and intimacy with God. This journey involves daily surrender, renewal of our minds, and intentional cultivation of our relationship with Him.
Spiritual Gifts & Community
We believe God generously gives spiritual gifts to each believer, uniquely equipping us for ministry and service. These gifts are meant to build up, encourage, and empower the church, fostering unity and vibrant community.
Love & Commandment
We believe the greatest commandments given to us are to wholeheartedly love God and to genuinely love one another. Loving God shapes and informs how we love others, transforming our communities and the world around us.
Philosophy
In today’s polarized conversation around sexuality, Where Grace Abounds seeks to be a third voice—a place of nuance, compassion, and biblical conviction.
One side of the conversation celebrates sexual freedom and self-expression, often viewing biblical boundaries as outdated or harmful. The other side emphasizes strict adherence to biblical standards, at times leading with judgment or exclusion.
At WGA, we choose a different way. We believe:
1
People are free to make their own choices—including how they respond to their sexual attractions. But upholding biblical standards is not unloving—it’s part of God’s design for our flourishing.
2
God loves and accepts us exactly as we are—but He also invites us into transformation. In following Jesus, every part of our lives is reshaped, including our sexuality.
3
God’s vision for marriage is between one man and one woman—but we reject the idea that same-sex attraction is somehow a greater threat to marriage than other forms of sexual brokenness like adultery or pornography.
At the end of the day, we believe we’re all in need of grace. Whatever our struggles or stories, we stand together at the foot of the cross—equally in need, and equally loved. May the God of grace and truth bring peace to those who struggle, and humility to those who are quick to judge.
